APB که مدت زیادیست در خفا بوده است اخیرا عرضه شده است٬ از نمایشگاه های معتبر بزرگ نظیر E3 گرفته تا کنفرانس های صنعتی کوچک نظیر Brighton Develop . سازنده Realtime Worlds نیز این موضوع را با به نمایش گذاشتن اولین دموی زنده در Gamescom جشن گرفته است . یک پروژه ی بسیار بلند پروازانه ٬ APB یک بازی انلاین و به شدت چند نفره و در سبک open world و اکشن است که در یک نبرد خیابانی عظیم قانون ساز ها را در برابر قانون شکن ها قرار میدهد .

دموی Gamescom به تیم اجرا کننده تمرکز داشت و ماموریت این بود تا ارامش را در دنیای APB حفظ کنیم . دمو با معرفی کوتاه شهر آغاز شد ٬ با دو نفر که بازی را محلی بازی کردند به همراه افرادی که در محل های پرت و دور بودند . همه ی آنها در یک ماشین پلیس بودند — یکی از ۳۰ وسیله ی نقلیه که بازی فراهم خواهد کرد . طراح اصلی ٬ EJ Moreland ٬ تاکید میکرد که چگونه بدنه ی وسایل نقلیه به کلی قابل شخصی سازی هستند ٬ که این به اجرا کنندگان قانون اجازه میدهد به شیکی و به روزی ـه وسایل نقلیه ی جنایتکاران خالکوبی شده که ما امروزه در فیلم ها میبینیم باشند .
وقتی این اجرا کنندگان قانون گروهی چهار نفره با هم تشکیل دادند ٬ به سمت پاتوق یک خبر چین حرکت کردند . وقتی شما با یک خبرچین در APB رو به رو میشود ٬ آنها ماموریت ها را از راه دور به شما میدهند ٬ و اگر شما عضو یک گروه باشید ٬ این مراحل به تمام آنها نیز به صورت خودکار داده میشود . تیم اجرا کننده سپس رفتند تا دستوراتی که گرفته اند را انجام دهند . آنها از دژکوب برای شکستن درها استفاده میکردند ٬ جعبه ای را برمیداشتند و ان را در جای دیگر قرار میدادند و … .

مبارزات در APB به نظر میرسد بسیار سرگرم کننده باشد ٬ آن هم به لطف استراتژی مانند بودنش . یکی از بازیکنانی که ما دیدیم از یک رایفل استفاده میکرد ٬ اما دومی تصمیم گرفته بود از یک شاتگان غیر کشنده استفاده کند . شاتگان به قدرتمندی رایفل نبود ٬ مخصوصا از دور ٬ اما باعث میشد دشمنان ناتوان شوند و سپس بازیکن به جلو برود و آنها را بازداشت کند . سود بازداشت کردن این است که مدت زمان بیشتری نسبت به کشتن طول میکشد تا دشمن دیگری جایگزینش شود — ۱۵ ثانیه به جای هشت ثانیه . قرار است در نسخه ی نهایی ۱۰ اسلحه وجود داشته باشد که برخی از انها تنها در صورتی که به رتبه بندی مخصوصی رسیدید آزاد خواهند شد .
دمو همچنین به ما این فرصت را فراهم کرد تا برای اولین بار برخی ویژگی های مخصوص بازی را ببینیم . بازیکنان قادر هستند آهنگ مرگ مورد علاقه ی خودشان را بسازند ٬ که در حقیقت زمانی که شما یک نفر را در بازی بکشید نواخته میشوند . ویژگی جالب دیگری نیز وجود خواهد داشت که به وسیله ی آن مردم نزدیک شما در دنیای بازی صدای شما را خواهند شنید ٬ بنابراین شما فقط دستورات خود را تنها به تیم خود نخواهید داد .
